This wasn’t the first place we visited in Hot Springs, but definitely the first that comes to mind to share. It’s just an amazing place. It’s a book store, coffee shop, holistic and spiritual wellness center, and clearly the meeting place for a number of communities. But that’s just the business. The heart and soul are the owners and staff; they’re some of the most friendly and engaging people I’ve met anywhere. Jethro and Lina were a delight to chat with. Jethro shares a “we’ve been friends forever” vibe within ten minutes of meeting him, and also gave us some great recommendations for other places to visit in the area.
We took a relaxation session in the massage chairs in the Electric Strawberry’s salt room. That was fantastic, especially after the previous day’s toiling in the mines. The store hosts a number of clubs and events, though, and we’ll try to time the next visit to coincide with their book club, the crochet club, a Meditation 101 class, or maybe the introvert happy hour.
Oh, and later in our visit? We decided to hit one of the local pool halls for a few hours. Another Electric Strawberry team member, Crystal, recognized us from the store earlier and came over to chat for a bit! It’s just not every day that you meet such friendly people (thought it should be). We loved Hot Springs in general, but the Electric Strawberry is one of the specific places that makes us want to return.
