It probably should have been called, “M. Night Shyamalan’s Please Check Out My Daughter.” Previous M. Night fans probably went into this thinking, hell yeah, an M. Night movie. Surely what’s in the preview isn’t the entire thing, there’s going to be a big twist somewhere!
Spoiler alert: the big twist is that there is no big twist. Nope. Whatever you think is going to happen…that’s exactly what happens.
The only unexpected thing for me was not anticipating that the entire thing was just a vehicle to launch Saleka Shyamalan’s acting/singing/dancing career. Pretty sure we saw the peak of that career right here in Trap though.
