Or “The New Empire” or something like that. I assumed this meant that Godzilla and Kong are now part of the Star Wars universe, but apparently it’s not that complicated. After all, these are kaiju movies, and all you need for good kaiju battles are a couple of kaiju and a lot of buildings to smash. And Iwis. I guess that’s the Star Wars tie-in; the screenwriters thought they were putting in Ewoks, but accidentally got Iwis. Go figure.
Just a few of the high points in “Godzilla Times Kong:”
- Pink and purple Godzilla.
- Baby Kong.
- Hollow Earth. (But no sovereign citizens, maybe that’s coming in the next movie.)
- Another kaiju that I think wandered over from the set of “How To Train Your Dragon 17.”
